All Calderdale Family Karate students and instructors must have a current license. Our licences are provided via the British Martial Arts and Boxing Association and require renewal every year. The license is needed because it includes insurance, entitlement to grade, and provides a record of gradings. Membership of our Club includes a current license and member to member insurance cover for injuries caused by negligence. Membership also includes Personal Accident insurance in case of injuries sustained whilst participating in Martial Arts. The details of the Personal Accident insurance are provided below (Gold Cover).
All of our instructors are also licensed with the British Martial Arts and Boxing Association. They also have Public Liability insurance, and Professional Indemnity Insurance. This provides indemnity for liability arising from their instruction, demonstration or supervision of martial arts activities.
