SBN Martyn Greenwood 7th Dan Black Belt

Sa Bom Nim Greenwood started Tang Soo Do in 1988, following five years of training in Shotokan Karate, Shukokai Karate and Korean Kempo. Because of his background in martial arts, he quickly progressed in Tang Soo Do and graded to 1st Dan Black Belt in 1990.  He later tested for 4th Dan Black Belt (Master) in 2002 with Grand Master Lee. He tested to 6th Dan in Philadelphia under KJN Frederick Scott and later to 7th Dan with Grand Master Ho Sik Pak. He is now one of the highest ranked martial artists in the North of England.

 

SBN Greenwood is a former member of the Team GB squad and has won several medals at both national and international level. His credentials include; three times world champion between 2011 and 2017, and winning two Gold medals at the European Open Tournament in 2018. He is still active on the competition circuit, and continues to compete at the highest level.  

SBN Greenwood is the founder and Chief Instructor for Calderdale Family Karate. He has dedicated over 35 years to training in Tang Soo Do, and has practiced martial arts for 40 years. He is a graduate of the University of Leeds and the University of Lancaster and has a Masters Degree in Strategic Leadership and Management. He also has an HNC in Command Studies and a  NEBOSH Diploma in Health and Safety Management. He is also first aid trained and holds qualifications for assessing and verifying.
